Juneteenth 2025: Twin Cities Celebrations on June 19th

At Sela Investments, we honor Juneteenth as a powerful celebration of freedom, heritage, and community strength. Here are three standout gatherings you can attend on the actual holiday, June 19:
5ᵗʰ Annual Juneteenth at Rondo Commemorative Plaza
315 North Fisk St, St. Paul • 12–5 PM
This moving observance marks its fifth year with the theme “The Journey of Four Families.” From 2–3:30 PM, enjoy speeches from public officials, the presentation of Spirit of Rondo awards, and the unveiling of new exhibit panels about Rondo family legacies. Food vendors and community exhibitors will line Fisk Street throughout the afternoon. Free admission.
Juneteenth on West Broadway Block Party
West Broadway Ave (Lyndale to Emerson) • 12–6 PM
Join a vibrant neighborhood block party with two live stages, fresh food, dozens of Black-owned businesses, a kids’ carnival area, historical exhibitions, DIY craft stations, giveaways, and more—all released in honor of Juneteenth. Free and family-friendly.
Soul of the Southside Festival
E. Lake St. & Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis • 12–8 PM
Now in its fourth year, Soul of the Southside celebrates Juneteenth with the theme “Family: A Revolutionary Force.” Hosted by The Legacy Building, this vibrant all-day event features live music (including Xina, Soulflower, and Illism), art, food, history, education, and a joyful spotlight on local Black-owned businesses and organizations. Free and family-friendly.
